![]() ![]() It is important to note that Greater Virunga Landscape (GVL) is composed of a network of transboundary protected areas where migratory species move freely from one country to the other between the GVTC Partner States: Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Rwanda and the Republic of Uganda that share the network of transboundary parks: Virunga National Park and Sarambwe game reserve of DRC, Volcanoes National Park of Rwanda and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Bwindi Impenetrabele National Park, Queen Elisabeth National Park, Semuliki National Park and Rwenzori mountains National Park of Uganda. Mainly buffaloes are the first ranked to cause problems in Virunga massif’s surrounding communities. ![]() Under the Greater Virunga Transboundary Collaboration (GVTC), conservation partners had done a lot to improve the community livelihoods buy putting in place conservation related projects and infrastructures.Īmong these infrastructures, is the electric fence to prevent the coming out of animals from the park to raid community crops.
